The Story of Aliz

Aliz was founded by a group of driven software engineers with one vision in mind: to build a company where they could solve interesting problems with the most modern tech stack. The company was established in Budapest more than 10 years ago, exactly when the public cloud started to become a thing. We started to focus on Google Cloud technologies and collected a tremendous amount of experience regarding it. As a result, we can proudly say today that Aliz is one of the most accomplished Google Cloud Partners.

But what do we do exactly for a living? We deliver off-the-shelf, or custom-built applications, data analytics, machine learning, and infrastructure solutions on GCP for our customers. The solution itself can be a lot of things from a data warehouse to a recommendation engine, or from a freshly migrated infra architecture to a highly scalable application. We work in multiple industries such as retail, e-commerce, online media, and manufacturing.

We scaled organically from 3 people to 100 employees. Although the size of the company changed, we have never abandoned our core values, such as transparency, autonomy, humanity, and openness. 

Offices

So we have had our HQ office in Budapest since 2009. In 2016 we figured that we could spread our knowledge more globally and founded our Singaporean office. We built up our Asian team and started to achieve cool successes to the extent, that we were recognized as the Google Cloud Breakthrough Partner of the Year of 2019 in the APAC region.

Meanwhile, a lot of markets became more and more cloud mature. For us, as a partner, it is always interesting to follow the investments that Google makes at certain locations, as it is a good indicator of future cloud consumption in different regions. When we saw that Google started to focus a lot on the DACH market with multiple data centers, and quite extensive Google offices, we decided to open an office as well in Berlin in 2019.

Since then, we had a great journey in the region to the point where as of today a substantial amount of Aliz’s income originates from the DACH region.

If something works, why stop it? Expanding our company didn’t end in the DACH region but continued with Milan. In June 2022, we were happy to announce the opening of our Milan office!
